India Opens New Consulate in Atlanta January 12, 2012— The government of India has opened a new Consulate in Atlanta, Georgia to serve the Southeastern United States. The Consulate, which will serve the approximately 100,000 Indian nationals living in Georgia and roughly 290,000 across the Southeast, is the fifth location in the U.S. Other Indian Consulates are located in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Houston. Senior Indian diplomat Ajit Kumar is the first Indian Consul General at the new location. |
